blindbox 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2009 Ultima, what simonbcn reported is true. (This post here http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?pid=420928#p420928)I've tried a few experiments of my own. It seems like in the WebUI, the scraped peers and seeders got switched (the connected seeders and peers are okay though), which explains simonbcn's screenshots. I can post some of my own but I would rather not go through the pain, since my internet really sucks.
Ultima 7 Report post Posted October 17, 2009 Sure, but I never denied that it was happening, and I already gave an explanation right below that post too.
blindbox 0 Report post Posted October 18, 2009 I don't get what you mean. I'm sure getting datas switched is quite different than getting the updated cache from the client itself. Scraped seeds appearing as peers and scraped peers appearing as seeds are what happening.EDIT: Strange, it's working now. Forget everything I've said. Everything appears to be normal. Ultima 7 Report post Posted October 18, 2009 Then you misread simonbcn's post, because he wasn't talking about seed/peer counts being switched. He was talking about there being a discrepancy between the numbers in WebUI and the numbers in µTorrent itself, for which I gave an explanation.Either way, my explanation still applies. µTorrent doesn't know a peer is a seed until it connects to it, so until it does, it will assume any peer in its cache is not a seed, but just a normal peer. As such, it will oftentimes look like µTorrent is reporting more peers than seeds even if it's actually the other way around, but that's because (again) it's reporting numbers form its peer cache, not from the scrape. zilexa 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2009 uTorrent 2.1 beta now supports RSS in the webui. I suppose an update to the webui is required to get this feature? I thought it might be included in the utorrent 2.1 beta installer but its not.. so I guess it has to be build first?
grap 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2009 hi i want edit webui.js.gz how to ?
Lord Alderaan 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2009 The 2.1 backend supports RSS. However, the webui (frontend) in use by Falcon doesn't have it implemented yet.I'm sure that if it gets implemented there it'll also be implemented in the WIP or in a new release of the webui.zip. Lord Alderaan 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2009 grap you are in the wrong thread for that mate. Firon 3 Report post Posted October 19, 2009 The RSS backend isn't completely finalized in 2.1. Until it is, you won't see it in the frontend either.
niktarace 0 Report post Posted October 21, 2009 I autoquote my question from this post: http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?pid=4263645/ Question: how to reset column order in webUI?Thanks.
Ultima 7 Report post Posted October 21, 2009 Ah damn, looks like right-clicking of column headers is broken too, presumably from the MooTools upgrade... Will look into it when I find the time. Edit: Indeed, I've found the regression. Will need to look more closely at the MooTools upgrade to see if any other potential regressions crept in.I'm not sure if there ever was a Reset item in the column header context menu anyhow. You can always press Esc to reset the entire UI.
blindbox 0 Report post Posted October 23, 2009 Thanks for the explanation Ultima. That cleared a lot of things.

modtang 0 Report post Posted November 6, 2009 Wow! Just installed this and it looks great. Thanks for the work you've done on it. Much better than the previous version IMO.
Ultima 7 Report post Posted November 6, 2009 Thanks But I can't honestly say with a clear conscience that I contributed a whole lot -- only fixed a few minor bugs here and there. Even the Speed tab (the largest feature added in v0.362) was implemented by Novik, and integrated by Directrix.
Snowknight26 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2009 Is it possible to change the way views are handled? If user A changes the sorting to Size while user B had it sorted by Name, eventually user B's view will be sorted by Size. Cookie-based views maybe?
Ultima 7 Report post Posted November 13, 2009 Not really, because WebUI isn't really designed with multiple users in mind -- see the fact that it allows only a single login to begin with.
Lord Alderaan 0 Report post Posted November 13, 2009 Just fyi: the Multi-user Webui-Shell saves the cookie per user. Installing it is a lot of effort if per-user cookies is the only thing you are looking for though.
Firon 3 Report post Posted November 13, 2009 But that is going to be fixed, Ultima. We're working on it. It will involve a session key + keeping track of caching IDs.
Ultima 7 Report post Posted November 15, 2009 Cool, but that still won't solve Snowknight26's problem natively I guess Lord Alderaan's multi-user shell is indeed best suited for this.
Millemania 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2009 Looks like the WebUI doesn't accept Magnet Links...
Ultima 7 Report post Posted November 18, 2009 http://trac.utorrent.com/trac/ticket/68Correct. It's been a longstanding deficiency with adding by URL. It will be addressed somewhere in the future.
arachne 0 Report post Posted November 26, 2009 http://trac.utorrent.com/trac/ticket/68Correct. It's been a longstanding deficiency with adding by URL. It will be addressed somewhere in the future. That link to ticket tracking status says that magnet URL support has been added to the WebUI for µTorrent 2.0 (ticket marked as closed/fixed). That implies that µTorrent 2.0 is available as a beta for use now...but I can't find this anywhere on the website, even when clicking the "Download beta version" link at the bottom of the main µTorrent website. How can this ticket be marked as closed/fixed if the version with magnet URL support isn't available, even for testing?I really enjoy using µTorrent as a service on my Windows Home Server, but that means I must interact with it using the WebUI. Magnet link support would be extremely helpful here. Thanks.
