randomnumb3rs
Living in dorms, so the internet here is provided by the school. Just started using utorrent again to find that every time I open it, my internet connection completely shuts off for about 20 mins. Asked some friends and apparently this happens when any P2P is opened. I've tried everything I can think of, but nothing works. Anybody know of a way around this? Or at least a site where I can download HQ movies?
Ultima
You're going to have to ask the network administrators at your school. As for where you can download things, read the forum rules and the forum announcement at the top of every page.
jewelisheaven
Are you getting disconnected from the network entirely, or are you simply overloading your link?
randomnumb3rs
I assume I am getting kicked off the network. It is possible I am overloading the link but doubtful since the program doesn't even get all the way opened before my connection dies. How would I be able to tell the difference? Switeck
They can see every packet your computer sends out or receives...so hiding BitTorrent traffic is difficult indeed, especially if they also disconnect/block/throttle unknown encrypted traffic.
