anoxan
I've been trying to upload an avitar for weeks now; and every time I try, I get this:The server was unable to save the uploaded file. Please contact the forum administrator at strigeus@utorrent.com.tried the email, but it's dead.trivial, I know, but what's a forum without avitars? Firon
Yes, we know about it (there's a few threads about this), but I don't think any of us knows how to fix it. :/
anoxan
fair enough. guess my handle's an avitar in itself.. lol
splintax
I was mucking around with PunBB on my server, and had the same problem. It occurred for me when I didn't give user write access on the avatar directory..I'm sure you've already tried, but you should double/triple check what the avatar directory's been set to as well as check the permissions on it.. chaosblade
an avatar should not be over 10k usualy. use a friggin compression program, any 3rd grade photo progie has a 'save to web' like feature, which sacrifises a bit of quality for lower filesize (usualy not noticeable). Animorc
" an avatar should not be over 10k usualy "I agree with this. It's fairly easy to compress a 100x100 image to less than 10 kB. Mine is just over 2 kB p.s. 1c3d0g: You barely made it
Firon
can you re-up your avatar chaos? it stretches weirdly anyway, I set it to 16k which is "reasonable enough"
splintax
Nice this software allows to disable avatars and signatures...Don't most forums? In any case, the avatars aren't disabled, it's just that they're not working properly. " an avatar should not be over 10k usualy "I also agree with this. Animated avatars suck ASS.Oh, and Firon, I was right? *slaps Firon with a fish* Come on, that was a simple thing to fix
Firon
Yes, it was that. I'd actually chmod'ed the folder before, but it got reverted somehow... :/It's fixed though, thanks.
