Utorrent and windows 7 x64 RC Crashes alot

Hello.

I am running windows 7 X64 RC and Utorrent 1.8.2. After opening utorrent my entire computer will crash any time between immediately and up to 1 hour. (windows will not respond and will not respond to power button). I understand that windows 7 is (probably) not officially supported. I have tried everything to get utorrent to work, including running as administrator, running it as emulated for windows xp sp 2, disabling visual themes, desktop composition, scaling on high DPI and even using 640x480 screen resolution and running in 256 colours..

I have traced the problem to utorrent, as windows will run for weeks without crashing (as in left on for 7 straight days, and even longer) but will crash shortly after utorrent is left on. I can open and exit utorrent quickly without causing a crash but i would like to be able to leave the program on.

Does anyone know what may be causing this problem?

Post a hijackthis log and process explorer process list with the dll list for the utorrent.exe process

Additionally, list what networking hardware you have on your system.

I have a Dlink DWL G510 Revision C wireless PCI card. I have utorrent under windows vista as well on the same system (vista is 32 bit though) and utorrent works fine on it.

If the entire OS is crashing, your drivers are screwed. Either that, or you have faulty RAM, but it's probably the former.

I run it on Windows 7 x64 and I have no such crashes.

All of my drivers are up to date with either the latest windows vista 32 drivers emulating or native vista 64 drivers. None of my other applications are causing the same problem as utorrent.

A user-mode app can't crash your OS. Broken drivers can and will. Same for a service (which again, uTorrent is not).

I am having the same problem. I had no issues with Vista 64 on the same machine but having installed 7 RC this issue has started to appear. It only appears when I am running uTorrent. Will try and post up a hijackthis log later today.

First, i can't click with my mouse, than after a few seconds i can't move my mouse and can't "ctrl-alt-canc" (sorry for my english XD) and i must restart

The DWL G510 runs on a ralink chipset.

I suspect that the wireless drivers for it are to blame.
