benjor9000
some times I use upload limits to finish torrents faster, or to control ratios. Very recently, the upload limit seems to "decide" to set itself, and always at very odd values, usually at 58K. I have reset it to "0" (unlimited), and at other times I have tried setting it to as much as 5000K, a few minutes later I once again have a 58K limit. I've adjusted the speed of individual torrents with bandwidth, I have tried the scheduler, nothing seems to matter, it just keeps re4setting to 58K. I have been using utorrent for years, and never had this happen before. I am using utorrent 1.8.1 build 14458. running windows XP Home edition with SP3 fully updated. heh did it again, limited itself to 46K that time, just while I was typing this. Switeck
Do you have Global Upload Rate Limiting set to Automatic (a checkbox)?
benjor9000
thank you ever so much Switeck, it was in fact the upload set to automatic, all better now...what is it's purpose, if all it does is stop me from sharing? seems useless to even have it there. Switeck
uTorrent tries to guess how much free upload speed you have and run at that speed for awhile straight before checking again. If while it's checking again you're putting a heavy load on the connection the resulting speeds for awhile will be low.
