ArrowSEnt Posted June 9, 2009 Report Posted June 9, 2009 My shortcut icons are now uTorrent icons and when I try to open a program (exe file) I get the message Unable to open "...": Invalid torrent file. I can open document files and have still been able to open internet explorer to this point. I tried regedit but was unable to open it and got the error message above.I am unable to download or install the 1.8 stable version because of the error

ArrowSEnt Posted June 10, 2009 Author Report Posted June 10, 2009 I tried their fix but I can't access any exe file except internet explorer so I can't use regcure or any other program that requires me to use setup.exe.
DreadWingKnight Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 You didn't try their fix if you think that it requires exe associations to work.

ArrowSEnt Posted June 11, 2009 Author Report Posted June 11, 2009 FironThank you!!!! Your link took me to the right page and another user had provided them this link: http://www.winhelponline.com/articles/105/1/File-association-fixes-for-Windows-Vista.html that has multiple file association fixes including the one for exe. It was a simple download and reboot.
