FoxRaweln
I believe the topic title speaks for itself.
moogly
To not be 'hit&run' leecher and keep alive the torrent you have downloaded. That's the concept of BitTorrent.
FoxRaweln
That may be good enough for some, but not for all.
Switeck
Even a few websites that host public torrents may ban peers that hit-and-run too much. But if you've uploaded over 50% of the torrent while you were downloading AND there's many seeds on the torrent...it's ok to stop that seeding torrent if you have bandwidth issues or other pressing concerns. That just means someone else has to do a lot more uploading to make up for the deficit. If you're regularly downloading torrents from the same torrent website, you'll probably see repeat peers after awhile. If they have to work harder on torrents you quit...they can't upload as much to you on torrents you just started.
Firon
If you don't seed, who will? Someone seeded so you could download the torrent. If they hadn't done that, you wouldn't have been able to download it.
FoxRaweln
I agree with Switeck. What I was look for was some kind of punishment for those who do not seed. I'm seeding a few files right now. Thanks for discussing.
