PotatoJuice
My first topic, and I'm not sure if this has been asked or not. Though why don't people archive and compress their torrents into a .zip file before they distribute them? I've never done this, so I wouldn't know.Zipping can offer compress files lower than 50% of their original size, so that would really make an impact on how much the peers would have to download. It would take some time to unzip the files, but wouldn't that be way lower than the extra time you would save from that compressed 50%?My real question is, why don't people actually zip their torrents? Is their some issue with large files being zipped? Do torrents have hard times distributing them? Or do people just have not enough time to zip them in the first place? Thanks. DreadWingKnight
Most of the content being distributed by torrent would not actually gain as much space as you'd think because it's already using its own compression algorithm.
