Rizzler
ok, since u updated to the beta version i havent had any 100% CPU spikes on write disk ratio on -1. BUT today i added a file on 8GB to download and my CPU shot up ro 100% CPY instantly for 1-2 min and all downloads went to 0. even the ones downloading to other HDD*s then the cPU spike vent down and everyting continued. why did this happen ? boneill
Allocating the hdd space probably kills utorrent unless its done in another thread. And if it doesn't kill utorrent it may kill your CPU via the kernel doing disk writes
DonGato
The problem with that is that you have to synchronize threads quite well to not do something that needs another thing done in another thread, like saving transferred bytes to disk when the file is being created. Firon
µTorrent's i/o is single-threaded
DonGato
Single threaded as I/O operations are all done in a thread or they share main thread?Any way... that's a performance problem when you have lots of files.
ludde
IO is done in a separate thread. I havn't been able to reproduce this problem so I don't know if it's utorrent or some 3rd party program causing it.
