Does utorrent tell routers to close the port when utorrent closes?

I have utorrent set up to forward ports to my Linksys router WRT54GX w/ uPnP, but after I close utorrent my pc still gets connection requests to utorrent's port. Is this a known problem with utorrent or is it a problem with my router? Help appreciated. Thanks.

The other peers/seeds retry your ip+port from time to time even if you've left the torrent swarm.
