zonda
Hello,I would like to understand what the ratio figure means ? By deduction I think that it shows, for each specific torrent, the relation bewteen the volume of data uploaded to peers and the volume downloaded. Am I right ? And how much should this ratio be.. a/ to be fair, and b/to avoid slowing my downloading - if both items are at all related of course. And finally is there such thing as an average or total ratio that would supersede each individual torrent ratio ?I think clarifying this would help other people understanding the "rules".thanks ! Miffo
I think you got it right, and you can check your overall ratio in help-statistict divide up/down.I think anything over 0,5 is fair but most ppl here will tell you 1,0 atleast.. SledgeDG
yeah! 0.5 is lame and has nothing to do with the idea of sharinggive back to the swarm at least what you got, thus enabeling others to complete their download like you That is fair-DG
Miffo
haha, you again. Some have more some have less..And trying to maintain ratio on a public trackes is useless anyway imo.Find a good tracker and they will tell you what ratio you should have... zonda
Thanks to all of you for your comments. I generally go up to 1 or 1.5, since this doesn't seem to harm my Internet surf or anything. Now, one more thing : the software seems to display total uploaded and total downloaded figures since is was installed. But are there built-in download rate (speed) limitations based on these cumulated fgures ? And if so, are there similar limitations from the trackers ? Firon
no limitations based on that. and private trackers may ban you for low ratios, but that's based on the ratio they see (namely, the torrents you run on that particular tracker)
