fitzisreal Posted June 30, 2009 Report Share Posted June 30, 2009 hey guys i am having this problem where when downloading in the afternoon right about 4pm i go from 550kbs to 26kbs and it goes back about 2am. just wondering if there is nothing i can change to get it back up thanks. Switeck Posted June 30, 2009 Report Share Posted June 30, 2009 Bell ADSL ISP in Canada throttles BitTorrent heavily during peak evening hours. That's what's causing the huge speed drops.Reducing total connections and turning off unneeded extra features in uTorrent that cost extra bandwidth (DHT, LPD, Resolve IPs -- right-click in PEERS window of a torrent) may increase the download+upload speeds slightly during those hours.2nd link in my signature may give better results during those hours as well.Considering you probably have a monthly bandwidth usage limit, you're better off to only use uTorrent after 2 AM but before 4 PM.
