code575001
Hi I've been using µTorrent ever since it was 65K or so (long time). The setup I have is a win2003 server with zonealarm running on an athlon xp+ nforce2+nvidia 4200Ti platform. No firewall software from nVidia has been installed. Protowall, ipFilter.dat, and PG2 are all being used along with blocklist manager.Ever since I upgraded to the 1.8.* builds uTorrent has been crashing. Most of the time it starts another instance and both processes are live on the system tray. Both do not respond to webui though.I was thinking it was related to webUI, so I disabled that and even tried getting the latest versions of it. It still kept crashing. The crashing interval is random, usually after 24 hours.I have a bunch of .dmp files in the uTorrent folder if you need them. Do you know what the problem could be?I've downgraded to uTorrent 1.7.7 and its stable as a rock again

DreadWingKnight
SuperAntiSpyware AND ZoneAlarmErf.
code575001
It was crashing even before I installed SuperAntiSpyware. (I only recently installed it because it proved invaluable on someone else's machine, finding and removing nasties where nothing else could)Zonealarm has been there for 2 years or so. DreadWingKnight
I still don't like seeing EITHER of them installed, let alone both, given the state of them and how they interact with uTorrent.Peerguardian and protowall on at the same time is just plain redundant. Switeck
Peer Guardian 2 and uTorrent (if that's all you're using Peer Guardian 2 to block) is also redundant.uTorrent's ipfilter.dat is effective enough and won't be a big extra cpu+ram hit. Firon
SAS isn't usually too much of a problem, but ZA is. The whole ZA suite is junk on every OS.And yeah, there's no reason to have PG2 and Protowall both installed.
code575001
I have them both because both of those blockers sometimes crash (rarely), and I want to stay protected always. Strangely both of them do block IPs even though ipfilter.dat is being used :S. Same set of IPs is deployed to all.Dont know why you guys dont like ZA Pro 6.0 (and earlier), it was the #1 firewall for a long time. I agree the new versions are bloated/buggy and dont work perfectly with vista (not supported on win7).How come 1.7.7 and prev versions are stable with the same ZA ? Switeck
Far lower UDP packet use by earlier versions of uTorrent probably...that ZA handles extremely poorly.
