cheesylard
So I seeded like about 200 MB of stuff for this torrent I solely downloaded for seeding last night. After the 200MB mark I moved my laptop to another room where the wifi wasn't that good and I watched a movie. Then I turned off the computer. This morning I went on the tracker's website and it reported that I seeded no data whatsoever but it did report that I downloaded it.I'm assuming it's a problem with uTorrent because the IRC support on the site said it had to do with uTorrent announcing and something about not shutting it down properly. Is there a way to get uTorrent to re-announce it or make sure it announced properly? DreadWingKnight
The problem is in how you handled the process, not in how uTorrent was behaving. That "upload credit" is lost. Nothing we can do about it.
cheesylard
Ok so like, when does uTorrent announce these things so I can prevent it from happening again?
DreadWingKnight
On the interval that the tracker specifys normally.
cheesylard
Does it announce when you right click on the item in the tray and click exit?
Ultima
It attempts to announce, sure. If the tracker is down or having problems, then that's the end of story. There's no reason µTorrent should keep downloaded/uploaded counts across sessions -- that'd only make it that much easier for people to send fake statistics to trackers.
