Nefarious
It was a 2 day discussion, the point was made thx to the "repetitiveness" as u call it.
Ultima
Yeah, this discussion isn't going anywhere, quick. It's entirely off-topic anyway, so maybe it should just end?@Synetech: I haven't seen this kind of posting in a while already, so isn't complaining about it almost pointless anyway? In any case, this happened only when1) µTorrent was still in its infancy, and there was a bigger fear of bloat creeping into it (which hasn't really happened so far)2) it was a feature that almost everyone else disagreed with, so it's not surprising that there would be an outcry of the same opinion
Guest
It was a 2 day discussion, the point was made thx to the "repetitiveness" as u call it.Not only that, but the repetitiveness—I don't know what you would call it—also serves to drown out any legitimate posts. After the first 10 or 20 posts that say the same thing over and over, few people would bother reading through the rest to find any real posts that may exist. (Before you start going off about how there were none here, I'm making a point about this behavior in general, not just in reference to this single post.)Ultima, there's no need for a million posts of the same nature. One post saying that it's a bad idea and explaining why is sufficient. Repeating it like that is aggressive and treats the original poster like an idiot who thinks of stupid ideas, which then causes them to never speak up again for fear of being flamed (which this clearly is), even if they have a great idea. This sort of thing has happened other times here and in other places. People do this all the time. While it may not be a problem in this case, the cumulative effect is detrimental. It wastes database space, it wastes time having to read through them, it drowns out other posts. Once someone has said what you wanted to say, there's really no need to repeat it unless you have something to add to it.Oh, well. People who do this sort of thing are not the kind of people likely to be swayed to do otherwise.

osm0sis
Visualizations' date=' ala Winamp! That's what we need! So, like, when people have HOTT dance parties, they can use their TORRENTZ! ZOMG![/quote']Hehe, the vis would be affected by the up/down speed, seeders, leechers, and so on instead of BPM. Maybe even a noise/music generator based on those stats. +1 for this
harlock592
i don't think it would be useless. i don't like azureus/vuze because it is coded in java and it is slow but i think utorrent misses this feature also.
