sctbyd
Have AT&T adsl 6.0 via modem only -- no router. I checked the box to add the firewall exception & uTorrent seems to be working OK. However, the little triangle at the bottom stays yellow -- no incoming connections, it says. I was under the impression that it was not necessary to open ports manually with windows firewall and the uTorrent exception. Is this correct? Does the triangle stay yellow because I have not opened a port manually(whether I need it or not)? Would I get better speeds if I did open a port manually? Windows firewall asks whether you want a TCP or UDP port if you do open one. If I do need one, which should it be? Thanks, Scott
Switeck
Many ADSL modems *ALSO* need to be configured. Check portforward.com for your modem model!http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htmuTorrent has an option to auto-configure Windows firewall for you...try it. sctbyd
Thanks very much, Switeck. You are cool!! Had already done the firewall thing. But just opened the port on the modem and the difference is amazing. And have a green triangle now. Scott
Switeck
Have you also set uTorrent settings based on your connection's max upload speed?(Chances are...you have less than 900 kilobits/second upload.)2nd link in my signature...
