OBx2
XP SP3, uTorrent 1.8.3 b:15772Just a query that I hope someone can answer.I right clicked an active torrent, then clicked Advanced>Reset Bans. When I checked uTorrent's log I noticed that 192.168.0.10:41755 (which is my LAN IP & the port I use for uTorrent) was unbanned.Although I see in the log other IP addresses being banned, I don't see my IP address being banned. I guess the questions are:1. Why are bans done?2. Why is my own machine being banned?3. Why doesn't the ban on my machine appear in the log? Thanks in advance. DreadWingKnight
1> The other ip addresses are being banned for hashfails2> Because it's the easiest way to prevent loopback connections3> Because it's intended to be silent.

Switeck
I've found that if I add my computer's internet ip address and my router's gateway LAN address to ipfilter.dat that I don't get loopback attempts by uTorrent. Care must be taken if the ipfilter.dat is copied to another computer to REMOVE the internet ip address! ...or others will ban your ip.
OBx2
Switeck, just out of interest, what's the benefit in doing that?
GTHK
I don't get loopback attempts by uTorrent.Which he gets constantly because DD-WRT fails.
Switeck
If I don't block my ips, I can get 1 or 2 loopback attempts per 1-5 minutes for every torrent I have running. I get 2 loopback attempts if uTorrent tries BOTH my LAN ip and WAN ip, but normally I only get one...uTorrent tries my WAN ip, but sees the attempt as a connection coming from my router's gateway LAN ip!
