telstat1
Hi:I changed ADSL modems a while back and now I can't download anything. Supposedly my ADSL connection is faster than before, but uTorrent isn't working right. Even tests on sites such as slackware don't work since I can't seem to connect. I reset all my connections after getting the new modem/router and even used software to set it up when my port-forwarding didn't register on tests. Again, always a port-forwarding error and extremely slow speeds (if I can even get anything on downloads). Meanwhile, the uploads are going great guns. I posted once before on this and it was suggested that I read some guides, which I have one, but nothing seems to cover the problem I'm having. I'd appreciate some advice. By the way, my green light is always on. Thanks. Jim.
Switeck
Even if your ISP isn't listed here:http://www.azureuswiki.com/index.php/Bad_ISPs#United_Kingdom...Chances are your ISP is throttling/disrupting BitTorrent traffic as well.On top of encryption settings in uTorrent, there's also 'extreme' hiding tricks to get better speeds:http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?pid=361747#p361747(Note: My post immediately following that one explains what settings in uTorrent are similar to the Azureus ones.)...but such hiding tricks are *NOT* easy to do!Similar settings in uTorrent:http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=58714
