pestbest, when it crashes, it asks you if you want to submit it to the developers (us). If that showed and it didn't crash again, then it was submitted. Otherwise, e-mail the dump to me ( firon at utorrent.com ) and feel free to roll back to 16666.

My uTorrent got upgraded to 16835 this morning, and it's been crashing regularly since. It reports "uTorrent has crashed. Unable to generate crash dump."

I'm hoping that I can go back to running the previous version fairly simply. I'm also assuming that there's some other people that are generating crash dumps with whatever this problem is, and that I'm not the only one experiencing it.

Build 16835 is working perfectly for me... Win 7 x64

Only prob is I am still getting incorrect upload speed when I use the new Speed Guide... Download speed is correct...

Getting : 471kbit/s

Really is: 368kbit/s

When I confirm the incorrect settings my uTorrent never uploads above 40kB/s instead of the cap it thinks I have 57kB/s

All other speed test sites are dead on... only having problems with uTorrent...

GTHK: Why can't the new one check for forwarding even with port mapping disabled?

http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?pid=429458#p429458 - #4

I think it's a bug, & was fixed in 16835

SG issues still in 16835:

1. Log during first run of ut + SG:

[2009-10-11 23:31:05] NOTE: Settings file found in directory of executable; using that.

[2009-10-11 23:31:05] *** Starting Diagnostic thread ***

[2009-10-11 23:31:10] RSS: Unable to download "PB|http://rss.thepiratebay.org/200": No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.

[2009-10-11 23:33:34] Checking for forwarded port

[2009-10-11 23:33:35] Port Forward test complete.

[2009-10-11 23:40:03] Connecting ...

[2009-10-11 23:40:07] Checking intermediate networks ...

[2009-10-11 23:40:22] Running Upload test ...

[2009-10-11 23:40:36] Running Download test ...

[2009-10-11 23:41:01] WSAEnumNetworkEvents error (10038)

results still show up. it happened once, and I could not recreate it.

2. #3 - http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?pid=429458#p429458 still valid

http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?pid=429245#p429245

3. Since you log things, why don't you just log the results as well as the "saved" setups ... this way users can easily post them in the IRC and the forum.

And for that matter, please just always enable the "save" button, so that we can use this just to log the current settings... nothing bad will happen if the user will re-configure himself with the "current settings" ... :)

@Firon

Please explain... I though the point in the upload test was to determine the maximum speed you could upload so uTorrent can cap the speed at 80% of that number so uploading does not cripple the download speed. The speed that it is capping my upload speed at is 10-20% above the bandwidth my ISP is giving me.

GTHK:

http://www.mediafire.com/?hyzujttmimm

Portforward test doesn't work on Vista SP2 for me if UPnP/NAT-PMP is disabled and then uT is restarted. _rafi_ said after trying my settings.dat the test didn't work for him either but changing the port let it function again.

clarification: OS: XP/SP2. ALcatel Speedtouch 510 router

it did not pass the forwarding test with a port GTHK used, that was NOT forwarded in my router. After changing the port to one that was forwarded in the router - the test passed as should be.

I would also change the error message and add "... Or check your router for proper port forwarding for port XXX to IP YYY and that your firewall excludes uTorrent"

btw, does your router work fproperly with static port forwarding for other applications?
