Firon
Bridging isn't viable for many people unfortunately, since they need it as a router for multiple PCs.And it's kbps (or kbit/s).
laundrybag
Firon:luckily i had a router cuz i had internet throughmy cable tv connection but switched to DSL on my fonei needed the router cuz the kids got a comp ffrom their granpa for x-masi also realize what the phrase "Whats the Speed of Free" means for file sharing(i picked that up way back when i used to mess with newsgroups:) )you are right though, but for the price of one game a person could buy a router and some McDonaldsi'm only bringing this topic here because i know how upset/aggrevated/mad that i was about how my connection was behavingbut now with bridging it sure is nice to see a 700 meg file coming to me in an hour
peepee
Hi! What do you mean by bridging and how do I go about it? I use to have good speed but had to reformat my harddisk recently and lost all my setting.I am using Win XP and Speedtouch ST585 router. Also whend doing port forwarding check I get following error msg:-"Checking port 3XXXX on 165.XX.XXX.XXXWarning! Port 3xxxx can not be checked. Your browser is setup to connect through a proxy. This script will not work through proxied connections. "I thought my ip address should start with 192.xx.xxx?
Firon
192.x is a private/local IP address.Singnet transparently proxies all HTTP traffic for their customers.
