Switeck
In the peers window, left-clicking on the top peer should highlight the whole line.Move the cursor to the bottom, hold down shift, left-click again to highlight everything from top-to-bottom.CTRL+C to copy.CTRL+V to paste in a reply here. If that doesn't work, please tell me if you're using webui and/or uTorrent version other than v1.8.3!

Switeck
So the only 3 peer connections you had were ALL encrypted and only 1 was an incoming connection. Why only 2 upload slots? (3rd peer wasn't being uploaded to...)58.152.156.237 is definitely an Asian-Pacific ip in Hong Kong, China. Your ISP might throttle BitTorrent upload/download to that. Surprising though you can get a connection to it at all!
ckuklbac
Those 3 peers were connected to one of eight or ten torrents seeding at that time.I don't know why only 2 upload slots, 5 are allowed plus more when seeding at less than 90%I have changed encryption to allow unencrypted connections, and that single change has doubled my upload rate to +- 40kB/s which is an improvement but only to 50% of my potential uplpoad capacity.Another single torrent upload IP Port Client Flags % Relevance Up Speed Down Speed MaxUp Reqs Uploaded Downloaded Peer dl. 64.56.2.148 32474 µTorrent 1.8.3 UO I 50.5 0.0 3.3 kB/s 16.1 kB/s 51.9 MB 148.8 kB/s 71.221.198.7 50725 µTorrent 1.8.1 U IE 6.9 0.0 0.1 kB/s 4.26 MB 58.5 kB/s 82.23.46.174 55629 µTorrent 1.8.3 u 14.9 0.0 0.1 kB/s 14.9 MB 65.8 kB/s
Switeck
Did you also set outgoing encryption to Enabled or Forced?I guess your ISP throttles "unknown" encrypted traffic in total to some low amount...but also allows some "known" BitTorrent traffic through. Crazy...but means it's easier for you to adapt to.
ckuklbac
Switeck,Hi again. I have been 'fiddling' with encryption to see what works. Currently I have encryption disabled and allow incoming legacy connections is checked.I have reset global max conns =50, max connected peers per torrent to =4, number of upload slots per=5I have one peer using utorrent 2.0 who is getting +- 50kB/s and my total upload rate has maxed out at 97kB/s for short periodsand is averaging between 60 and 80kB/s- But this is only since this one peer has connected.IP Port Client Flags % Relevance Up Speed Down Speed MaxUp Reqs Uploaded Downloaded Peer dl. Switeck
Notice of course that the 1 peer is using [uTP]?uTP connections use UDP packets instead of the standard TCP packets that normal seeds and peers use.Your ISP...seems unable to throttle that (uTP connections using UDP packets) at this time. (Sadly, that may change!)
ckuklbac
So is there any way to set up my uTorrent to use and or accept only connections that use uTP connections? I don't see any reference to them in the preferences section. Should I install uTorrent version 2 beta? How is that peer able to select uTP instead of TCP??Here is another snap shot . . Switeck
All uTP connections?!?!...Well, seems like they're not getting good upload speeds. To enable/disable uTP, read bottom of 1st post here:http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=49813
ckuklbac
Well, thanks to your help I thinked we have cracked it. I am now using uTorrent 2.0 beta, and with all the fiddling we have tallked about my upload connection is maxed out at 100kB/s and has been since I read about the uTP.Protocol encryption is forced, incoming legacy checked,Global max connections=40Max per torrent=10Upload slots per torrent=5Bandwidth management is checkedAdvanced settings are unchanged. All you need to do now is build in to uTorrent an automatic line speed checker (on install) and self tweaking ability to match.Hey for all I know, it already is!Cheers! Switeck
uTorrent v2.0 is not very good at guessing what settings you need...the earlier versions don't guess at all.You must know what your line is capable of...and recheck it maybe once a week/month to verify that hasn't changed. ...And use settings similar to my speed guide.uTP connections allow uTorrent to do a little automatic speed adjustments...but if you have too many or too few connections, it's unreliable. ckuklbac
Two days later and we are back to normal- abysmal upload speeds 10-20kB/s and nothing I do seems to make any difference.Question: How do I uninstall IPv6/Teredo???I have restored my computer to an earlier date to try to get rid of it, but it is still there. Switeck
To disable Teredo:http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?pid=360679#p360679EXPECT bad results during peak evening hours (about 5 PM to 10 PM)...Your ISP is probably trying to cram 100+ cablemodems onto a single 38 megabit/sec download channel. ckuklbac
Thanks for that info. I have read up on IPv6/Teredo on the MS web site and decided to leave it in situ at the moment. My upload speed has been restored to the dizzy heights of 100-107kB/s. All I had to do was restore windows (Vista SP2) to a previous week, uninstall all copies of uTorrent, clean the registry using ccleaner and Eusing reg cleaner (both new versions) and then download a fresh version of uTorrent 2 build (beta 16126) and install it. Now all that remains to do is to persuade build 16126 to download at the same time as it uploads. So far, all attempts have failed, meaning I get not only really, really slow down speeds, but the upspeeds drop to single digits and then WILL NOT recover after the download attempt is ended.BTW the set up speed guide thingy crashes uTorrent every time I try it giving me a data read error on the speed test (all servers) and the network test. The NAT-PMP test gives me both a red X and a green cross superimposed one on top of the other- and then it crashes.
Switeck
All of uTorrent v2.0's speed test servers were down last I heard... Have you done any online searches/research to see if others have the same problem on the same ISP (Shaw Cable in Canada)?
