Cant make this thing work in Vista

Recommended Posts

A week ago I switched from XP to vista and now it's a nightmare with Utorr. In XP it worked perfect. static IP + firewall exception in windows and router and vuala. In Vista it just wont work. All things are the same which are:

3COM RCRWE554G72T router

Atheros AR5007UG Wireless Network Adapter connecting me to the router

Utorrent 1.8.3

and now Vista SP2 X32.

I have a static ip, firewall exception in windows and router (which were working perfectly in XP), UPnP checked (tried to uncheck - same effect). The problem actually is this: i get no seeds(+torrents icons turn red after half minute of working). Actually It looks like the port aint forwarded (or at least not most of the time) though the port forwarding icon is still green, but when i do the actual test 95% of the time it shows that it closed. When i run the prog it seems ok but after few seeds it's just stop connecting to them and downloading only from ones it connected so far which is very few. Sometimes it add 1-2 seeds and in this moments the port test gives ok, after few seconds it's closed again.

Pleeeeeeease help me cause i'm going nuts and ask fore any additional information u need.

Antivirus might be interfering...or whatever "Babylon" is?

What permissions does uTorrent have over any folders it accesses?

You said:

"Babylon is a dictionary. Can he interfere with Utorr?

And how i check permission of certain program?"

I figure it's at least remotely possible that Babylon could interfere with uTorrent, just due to how it "ties into" Internet Explorer (and probably networking)...

Try googling that...I don't have (nor want) Vista.
