Fadeout
I use mostly an external hard drive that works most of the times, but sometimes the load seems too high and utorrent is unable to manage this situation even if this problem should be easy to fix.At some point utorrent STOPS ENTIRELY to write on the disk. The cache starts to fill up and when it gets to 100% it gives me a disk overload message, while the downloading stops. In some occasions utorrent starts to write again and the situation normalizes (cache unload to the disk), in other cases I have to quit the app (it takes a while to move data from memory back to the disk, but at least closing the app triggers this), and then restart it.It may be normal that in some cases the disk lags behind, but I wonder why it doesn't catch up. Utorrent stops entirely to write instead of trying to compensate.
DreadWingKnight
And have you checked to make sure that:A> There's nothing on the system that could be interferingB> You're not causing conditions to make this freeze (such as adding a new torrent with preallocate on)C> The drive isn't failingD> The drive can actually keep up with the random seeks you're shoving its way
