Nauctshea
I currently am trying to download two torrents that have over 300 seeds each. I was able to download portions of each (49.5% and 39.7% of 265MB) but I now have a problem. uTorrent tells me that a firewall/router is blocking network traffic and I need to open a port. I can restart uTorrent to get a very slow speed (approximately 15kb/s) but that eventually dies down to nothing. My current port is 54389. I've opened it through Port Forwarding, Port Triggering, and UPnP and I get the same problem each way. I currently have all 3 options turned on. I even tried disabling the SPI Firewall on the router with no change. The Windows Firewall is turned off. I am running AVG Anti-Virus. I am running uTorrent with Protocol Encryption enabled.Router: Netgear Wireless 54Mb/s WGR614 v4, fully updatedOS: Windows XP x64, fully updatedISP: Clear Wireless 6Mb/sIf anyone has any idea what might be causing the problem and how I might fix it, I would be very appreciative. GTHK
Using all three is simply retarded, only use one of those options.Have you ever passed a portforward test? What kind of ISP is that, cellular? Sat?
Nauctshea
Yeah, I know having all three on is retarded, but at this point I was trying anything.I'm beginning to suspect either a faulty router or my ISP. I reset my router to factory defaults and enabled the UPnP. It is currently forwarding the correct port. Still the same problem. However, the port forward test says its not working. As for the ISP, Clear Wireless is a WiMAX service. The modem Clear uses is a Motorola CPEi 150.
GTHK
Find the status page for your router, WAN/Internet section, what IP Address is displayed in the router? First two parts will do.
Nauctshea
Internet Port: IP Address: 192.168.15.
GTHK
Either the modem is also a router, and needs portforwarding, or WiMAX (which I am not at all familiar with) doesn't give you a public IP Address.
Nauctshea
I don't think the modem is a router as it only has one Ethernet port and no wireless capabilities. Thanks for the help! I suppose this is one more reason to switch to cable.
DreadWingKnight
I don't think the modem is a router as it only has one Ethernet port and no wireless capabilities.Neither of these factors define if a device has an integrated router or not. What model modem is it?
