Ultima
I haven't tested the betas very much, but from what I've read so far, nested sorting is being added to µTorrent already. You can sort by whatever preferences you want, and then sort by Status at the end -- it does the same thing with less screen real-estate.
hendrix
yaay! great.. i think.. is nested sorting the same as the image above??
dAbReAkA
Ultima .. no such thing..
Ultima
@dAbReAkA: I don't know -- I haven't tested the beta much... I've only been reading what others have been saying in the forums, and have seen some people mention the fact that nested sorting was not working -- so I assumed it was implemented... guess not =T [Edit: PeFi mentioned it in this post... I'll never trust him, ever again!! (jp xP)]@hendrix: What image are you talking about? Do you mean the mockup that Urkburk posted? If that's what you're talking about, then no, that's categorizing, not nested sorting. (When I say nested sorting, I'm talking about how when you click sort by Name, then sort by Status, it sorts by status, but within each status grouping, the items are sorted by name, etc)
Bruners
I cant say that i would want a feature like that, it would take up even more screenspace. And like already stated in some posts here, there are several ways to to see the differences between downloads and uploads.Anyhow, if this is to be implemented, please make it optional. Ultima
@dAbReAkA: Such thing... I just read the changelog, and it said specifically this...- Feature: Use Shift when clicking on the main listview's columns to setup a secondary sorting order. Thanks for having me confused for a second there =P
hendrix
ok, categorizing like the mockup shows wouldnt take up that much more space imo.. but maybe nested sorting will work for a while until u (devs) realize that "categorizing" isnt that bad! emtec666
the reason i liked the split rows in azureus was to easily see at a glance when torrents had completed and are only seeding.I agree, would help a lot if you have 50 or so torrents in your client, like me. Implement!
kds..
yea same, the main reason i would want them seperate is because i like to have the d/l speed for downloading torrents and the upload speed for seeding torrents in the same place for ease.. hendrix
i dont think thats a bug.. thats there to show u what u sorted by! Like in XPs own explorer.. it does the same thing! The bug is that it dissapears when u exit the prg

1c3d0g
Hendrix! That's indeed a bug! Good observation, I did notice it myself but thought it was by design, so I didn't pay much attention to it. :/
hendrix
hehe.. thanks assuming that it wasnt intended!?
dAbReAkA
an arrow on the Column name should indicate how u sorted, but changing the colors is not a good idea.. looks bad.. maybe it's not a bug but it's not goodon the nested sorting column it shoulb say 2 and an arrowthat's PeFi's idea actually.. hendrix
yeah maybe your right.. there should be an arrow too.. but i like the change in colors!.. i think they should stay!
dAbReAkA
it looks very bad.. maybe another nuance of grey would be better.. but it look very bad especially when rows alternate color enabled
