slide45 Posted August 30, 2009 Report Posted August 30, 2009 what can i change in utorrent so it stops working? I have a family member who is staying with us and downloads to much on my computer and it gets me capped to dial up speeds. Iv told them off about it and they still do it but its shitting me.Thanks
moogly Posted August 30, 2009 Report Posted August 30, 2009 Tell him to set lower the global bandwidth in uTorrent, like 75 or 70% of the max upload.
slide45 Posted August 30, 2009 Author Report Posted August 30, 2009 I have said that already, but hes downloading about 10GB at a time i can only download 20gig a month including upload, so i need to change somthing in the settings of utorrent so it wont download when he is on. Then when i go on i can just click somthing in utorrent or type somthing in the ports of utorrent that it can go back to normal.
Switeck Posted August 30, 2009 Report Posted August 30, 2009 There's all kinds of settings in uTorrent that can "screw it over" so it won't work. But there isn't a quick way once doing them to make it work again...short of resetting to default settings. Your router may also be able to block LAN ips from internet access...and maybe even do QoS on ports/LAN ips. Try that too.
