theXpert Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 In our university we have multiple proxy servers each having different bandwidth available at different time. Means our university LAN is connected to WAN through 2-3redundant connections with different ISP n bandwidth. So while downloading from utorrent, we should be able to configure 2-5 proxy servers so that we can achieve maximum ul-dl speed. Different pieces can be allocated different routes(or proxy server number) to be downloaded from. Also this will help us to switch another proxy server automatically if currently used proxy sever is down. Please consider the need of idea and include this feature as soon as possible.
Switeck Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 uTorrent is set up to use only 1 WAN...however you could run more than 1 uTorrent copy at once and tie each of them to a different proxy/WAN link. You would not be able to download the same torrent from multiple WAN links at once, unless EACH is saving to a different location...and it would likely be downloading the same pieces multiple times. You might also need to manually add ip addresses for each so they could link together.
