re-downloading part of a torrent every time I add it

If I'm seeding a torrent I created locally and for some reason I have to remove and add the torrent back in, I almost always end up re-downloading a few small files or parts of them. It's not corruption (it happens with text files as well so I can eyeball them) and nothing has changed about the files as far as I can tell. Copying the files back into the download directory then removing and re-adding the torrent does not fix the problem, and it also happens when the torrent is created with Vuze rather than uTorrent. But it rarely or never happens with torrents I have downloaded not created myself. Since the "force recheck" option is disabled I can't even do that.

The reason why I'm removing and re-adding torrents is that uTorrent won't shut down cleanly on my laptop, and after I've hibernated and re-started it often won't connect properly - it shows as active but seeded torrents are not visible to other people. So I go File-Close and process explorer shows uTorrent still active, and if I try to restart I get the "it's already running" error message. Process Explorer can kill it, however. But cleaning up after that happens is not always easy, because when I restart it scans all the torrents I'm sharing again in a fairly random order, and that takes a long time. So I clear everything and manually add them in priority order (I seed a bunch of old, rarely-downloaded stuff as well as new, popular stuff).

I'd switch to Vuze to avoid this but Vuze has a nasty habit of blue-screening my laptop when I add a new torrent to it. I can put up with irritating re-downloads much more easily than unexpected hard reboots.

Happy to use the search link, it's just that when I used the prominent "search" box I got random crud off google rather than a forum or site search. Looking around I didn't see any other search options, so I didn't use them.

OK, feature request: enable "force recheck" when a torrent is active. Vuze does it, it can't be that hard.

I'm not sure - it's almost always small files, so if I've got .nfo files or an info.txt and folder.jpg files they're much more likely to be affected than an avi or flac file. But not being sure of the ordering/re-ordering within a torrent I'm not sure where those files sit. I am guessing that they're the last files in the torrent since they always sit at the end of an alphabetical listing of the files in the torrent. It may be the whole last chunk, since the last time this happened the extra download was just less than the chunk size (I hadn't noticed this before but it may well have been happening all along).

BTW, force re-check does not fix the problem. And it's definitely only torrents that I've created. Which is very odd.
