Frequent loss of internet connection

I'm continually losing my wireless connection. This happens when downloading video, music or using any torrent program. It happened with a standard cable connection and now it continues with my home wireless network and only during a transfer of data. I right click the connection and choose "repair" and I'm back up and running in spite of Windows telling me it did not complete the repair since it was unable to clear NetBT.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
