magnifica Posted September 14, 2009 Report Posted September 14, 2009 As I understand it, utorrent and Azureus use different kinds of DHT? So using the embedded tracker (DHT?) to transfer files privately won't work utorrent to azureus? Is there any work around for this apart from myself or buddy switching clients? Or alternatively, can anyone recommend an open tracker that doesn't publish the torrent files publicly? Thanks.

And you can add a small file (like .txt) to the torrent to change the hash if you share a popular file.
magnifica Posted September 14, 2009 Author Report Posted September 14, 2009 Thanks! It works just putting the tracker address in the tracker field? I would have thought that you'd have to upload the torrent file to the tracker for the tracker to track it! I'll give it a go. Cheers again.
moogly Posted September 14, 2009 Report Posted September 14, 2009 Create the private torrent with a public announce, send it to your trusted friends and load it into uT, that's all.Uploading a torrent onto a website is just if you want to publish your torrent, that's not your case.
magnifica Posted September 14, 2009 Author Report Posted September 14, 2009 OK. I have done it, just waiting for my friend to check his email to get the torrent file. Thank you again. You learn something everyday Edit: Yup, worked perfectly. Thank you. This solution is much easier than using the embedded tracker. Thanks again!
