Because I'm using cFossSpeed for bandwith management, I have some problem. Why uTorrent using svchost.exe? How can I disabled it?Thanks
Switeck
What makes you think uTorrent is using that connection?
koolyce
Hi,I will read your 4 links. But I'm sure it is uTorrent because the transfer, up and down, can go up over 100Mb for an ip and also, when I pause my torrents, the udp connexion is still there and when I stop all the transfert, it desapear. koolyce
Hahahaha true Anyway...I read it and all have been already done correctly. Also, I forgot to mention that I use the same settings that has been used on windows XP and the problem wasn't there. So I'm wondering the compatibility or stuff like that with uTorrent and Windows 7. Switeck
If the UDP stream disappears when you stop all transfers (shutting down uTorrent for instance), that means uTorrent's traffic is being rerouted through a man-in-the-middle style watching software, such as a keylogger or software firewall. koolyce
I have the Windows firewall turn on and when I turn off, no difference.I did a virus scan, malware scan (spybot and search) and nothing. My windows installation is brand new. Also, it seems to be only few connexion (1-3).
Switeck
Your antivirus program probably includes a "lite" software firewall which is to blame for this.
koolyce
I use Avira Personnal and from what I know, no "lite" firewall is integrated.
Switeck
Then it may be windows firewall.Try disabling DHT, LPD, Resolve IPs, UPnP, and NAT-PMP and see if it goes away.If you're still getting UDP connections/streams...it may be uTP or Teredo/IPv6 connections. koolyce
I disabled windows firewall. How I disable Resolve IPs? Others are already disabled. And if it is uTP or Teredo/IPv6 connections, how can I fix this? Thanks
Switeck
Right-click in PEERS window/tab of a torrent to get the menu to disable Resolve IPs.You can disable Teredo/IPv6 in Windows...check if uTorrent says it's even installed/in use at uTorrent start in its Logger window/tab.uTP connections can be disabled by changing bt.transp_disposition to 5. (ONLY works in v1.8.3 and later!)
koolyce
Thanks. For Teredo/IPv6, uTorrent said it is installed and in use. How can I disabled it?What is uTP connections? Thanks
Switeck
For Teredo/IPv6:http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?pid=360679#p360679For uTP, read 1st posts of these threads:http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=49813http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=60602
koolyce
Thanks Switeck.Since I disabled Teredo/IPv6 and uTP my problem seems to be no more there. Thanks again. I will keep an update in couple of days to give you the status to be sure it is always like that.
Switeck
There was probably nothing wrong with the UDP traffic, only that you were unhappy how it was shown as coming from svchost.exe instead of uTorrent.
koolyce
In fact, with cFosSpeed, the traffic shaping was not done correctly with these uTorrent features. But now, everything is working. So thanks.
