windows xp freeze with μtorrent

μtorrent crashes (windows xp freeze, Ctr-Alt-Del doesn't work) while checking progress on big files.

It started a week ago, before everything was perfect!I checked my system with AVG free, there was no mallware!

I updated to 1.8.4 the same happens!!

Any ideas?
