hugstari Posted September 20, 2009 Report Posted September 20, 2009 Good dayI have a problem with sharing a file. I was going to seed a photo album for some members of my family i thought i had set everything up correctly. My listening port is open and i entered the correct ip adress, i did it like this: http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:port#/announce.phpThen i get the error message "connection closed by peer" and those who are trying to get the files see it like there are 0 seedersI tried changing the tracker addres to http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:port#/announce and then i get the error message "no connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it "How can i get this working? Any help would be great
DreadWingKnight Posted September 20, 2009 Report Posted September 20, 2009 Do you actually have the tracker running? What tracker are you using?
hugstari Posted September 20, 2009 Author Report Posted September 20, 2009 i just followed this guide http://filesharefreak.com/tutorials/utorrent-make-your-own-bittorrent-tracker/So i am my own tracker, i think? Bit of a noob at this kind of stuff
DreadWingKnight Posted September 20, 2009 Report Posted September 20, 2009 Did you actually enable the tracker in advanced preferences? Is your client reachable normally? What version of uT are you actually using?
hugstari Posted September 20, 2009 Author Report Posted September 20, 2009 I didn´t enable the tracker in advanced setting, doing that now.I´m using version 1.83 and yes i am connectible on other torrents--------------------------------------------------------------Well i enabled the tracker but my peer still can't connect to me: "No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it ". One thing i am wondering about when i enter the traker address while i am creating the torrent file, should it be announce.php or just announce?I got to go for a while but i will be back to try and fix this connection promblem. But i probably won´t be able to do it without somebodies help.
DreadWingKnight Posted September 20, 2009 Report Posted September 20, 2009 Just announce, not announce.php
hugstari Posted September 21, 2009 Author Report Posted September 21, 2009 So yeah, it's still not working for me. Anybody have any idea why?
DreadWingKnight Posted September 21, 2009 Report Posted September 21, 2009 Is your client able to accept incoming connections normally?
hugstari Posted September 22, 2009 Author Report Posted September 22, 2009 Yes, at least i get the green icon at the bottom telling me that my network connection is working as it should. Here's what my utorrent window with the torrent in question selectedThank you for trying to help me
