MdX MaxX Posted September 25, 2009 Report Share Posted September 25, 2009 I recently got a new Vista 64-bit PC and have uTorrent installed. I downloaded an update build, but every time I start up uTorrent it goes to the setup wizard. At the end of the wizard when I click install, the program places the desktop icon on the desktop, but nothing else happens. The wizard doesn't do anything. If I start up uTorrent again it goes to the setup again. If I start the exe directly from the program folder it still goes to the setup. How do I get uTorrent to start up? nihilObstat Posted September 25, 2009 Report Share Posted September 25, 2009 MadMax, I can't help I'm afraid, but I can tell you you're not alone.Exactly the same is happening with me, except I'm running 32 bit vista, home premium. Funnily enough I can't get uTorrent to run on my login, but my housemate's login on the same machine has no trouble. And to make it more interesting, my laptop running xp (but connected wirelessly using the same router) also decided to stop running uTorrent at the same time. This was a month and a half ago,when 1.8.4 was first released. (mentioned at very end of 1st link in my signature)...especially the DLL list attached to utorrent.exe while it's running, as shown by Process Explorer.
