scrow
When I am downloading at, say, 100kb and uploading at 30k, why does my task manager say I am using 1% of a 100 Mbps connection? My roommate is getting all upset because his homepage takes about 2 seconds to load, and said it's because I am using 1% of my 100Mbps connection, which is most of our actual internet bandwidth. What am I not understanding about these numbers? Thanks!
Switeck
The 100 mbit/sec connection is probably only between your computer's network card and your router. If you are on ADSL or cable ISP, then your upload max is probably 1 mbit/sec or less...and even the download max is probably less than 25 mbit/sec.100 KiloBYTES/second download speed would be roughly 1 mbit/sec download, maybe even a tiny bit more than that.
