DevelopersDevelopers
I was wondering if information regarding UTorrent's PHE and Peer-Exchange utilization will be available so that authors of other clients will be able to add implementations of PHE/P-E that would be compatible with UTorrent. Such a thing would be greatly beneficial to all parties and would prevent further fragmentation of BT users through client-specific features (Imagine all the university students behind packet shaped networks who would be able to choose UTorrent if UT could do protocol encryption, NAT Transversal with BitComet). rafi
I was wondering too... The problem with this approach might be that then the ISPs could get it too ...
Firon
PE isn't µT specific, it was a joint open spec with Azureus, go check their wiki for the spec.DHT is Mainline's, not µT's, you can check the Mainline client's source code or whatever to get the code for it
rafi
PE = Az + uT ->
Firon
You can't PEX with µT. And the X flag only means that the peer was obtained through PEX, not that you're doing PEX with it. :/
rafi
r u talking to me ? cause no one mentioned PEX, just PE The 'X' is all yours ... I was just gald to see Az PEing with uT !

chaosblade
rafi: doesnt matter if the ISP gets the specs.. Thats the same thing as thinking that RSA is useless because the algorithm is well-known ;]
Firon
The spec is open and anyone can get it and examine it for flaws http://azureus.aelitis.com/wiki/index.php/Message_Stream_Encryption
