Utorrent lagging yahoo games thru router

For the past week, whenever I have tried to download, yahoo pool instantly lags. I have tried diff computers, diff IDs, cleared cookies, cleard temp net files, system restored, virus scanned 4 times (all clear). I can plug straight into the modem and I am fine. I put a new router on, I had no problem at all. The second I went to download a file, I was instantly lagged. The entire net works fine even other java based online games. I have tried Opera, Firefox, and IE. I have all windows updates. Utorrent worked fine for 2 years until the past week and all I did was go to sleep and wake up. The lag hits for about 4 days has disappeared for 2 days then came back. I have no clue why. I need help.

I have 768 MB of RAM, pent 4 cpu with 2.66 Ghz. As I said Utorrent has worked fine for 2 years and now lages that one single site like no tomorrow and if I bypass the router and go straight into the modem I am fine. Now I have uninstalled utorrent and am still lagged and am about to try to reinstall the router clean but I will not be able to use utorrent anymore if this works. I am also using XP and have no firewall.

I have turned off the SPI Firewall and uninstalled utorrent. Problem solved. Re- installed utorrent, problem immediately back. Had to uninstall utorrent and save the settings for SPI firewall turned off again.. No longer a problem. So this is definitely somethng to do with utorrent and a setting. I never had this problem before until a week ago.

You probably have uTorrent set too aggressively.

Thank you switech. Your torrent settings guide appears to have helped me. As of right now, problem solved.

I now have the same problem as before. I have uninstalled utorrent and rebooted for no result. I have bypassed the router altogether with no change. Everything wsa fine yesterday until I used utorrent last night. As of right now, I have no router, no utorrent and the problem persists. Utorrent was the only program running last night while I slept. I woke up to the same problem.
