ef'd disk Posted October 20, 2009 Report Posted October 20, 2009 Hello, Im using bittorrent 6.2 (build 15918) I'm posting here bcs the link to the forums redirected me here. My problem is that after I use the Remove and delete .torrent + Data on a torrent from the list, it makes the torrent and file to be removed from the list and location, but it seem that the disk space being occupied wasnt freed in the process. Any ideas on how to resolve this? I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling still the same problem.
DreadWingKnight Posted October 20, 2009 Report Posted October 20, 2009 did you empty your recycle bin yet?
ef'd disk Posted October 20, 2009 Author Report Posted October 20, 2009 Well half the times this happened I did deleted the files that were in the recycle bin. The other times were when torrent wouldn't start mostly becouse there were 0 seeders or no connectivity etc, in which cases there wasn't even a folder or any file in the specifyed directory/file location where I choose to download, even after waiting 5 mins or even 30 mins, the download won't start, then when I used the command I mentioneds in my 1st post, no files went in the Rec Bin, and the disk space that was prechached seemed to remain precached. =\
DreadWingKnight Posted October 20, 2009 Report Posted October 20, 2009 Do you actually have preallocate all files enabled in the preferences?Where are you checking the disk space difference?
ef'd disk Posted October 20, 2009 Author Report Posted October 20, 2009 Here are my settings which are the default and which I used/use atm.
DreadWingKnight Posted October 20, 2009 Report Posted October 20, 2009 That doesn't show me the settings I asked for, nor does it answer EITHER of my questions.
ef'd disk Posted October 20, 2009 Author Report Posted October 20, 2009 Well am not exactly sure which settings you want me check, but I used the default settings on everything on bittorrent. The comparing actually was made in the following way: I've tryed to download a torrent a day or 2 ago, after I removed it from the list, I've noticed that some of the disk space seem missing, but I thought that I am imagining things. Today my sister tried downloading few torrents which weren't starting, and she used the remove and deled .torrent + data which resulted in nearly 2 gigs space loss. Eg the space that the torrents had precached.
DreadWingKnight Posted October 20, 2009 Report Posted October 20, 2009 That issue has nothing to do with the disk cache settings like you thought they did.The settings I'm after are in general.
ef'd disk Posted October 20, 2009 Author Report Posted October 20, 2009 Here are teh eneral settings: http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/2630/generalsettings.jpg
