pbo Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 Does µTorrent support RSS feeds with Unicode? Please thumbnail large images.
Firon Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 use beta 421, and if it still doesn't work, it's a problem with the feed.
pbo Posted February 10, 2006 Author Report Posted February 10, 2006 i use 421... it don't work http://www.bt-club.org/rss.php and it don't work too http://www.kinozal.ws/TK/rssdd.xml
pbo Posted February 10, 2006 Author Report Posted February 10, 2006 it's UTF-8 and Windows-1251... both...
Firon Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 the second one is not UTF-8, it's Windows-1251, and I can't see the first one
pbo Posted February 10, 2006 Author Report Posted February 10, 2006 Doesn't µTorrent support RSS feeds with Windows-1251 or only UTF-8?
Firon Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 latin1 and UTF-8, (and I think latin1 is rendered as your system codepage)mainly 'cause there's no way for it to tell WHAT the codepage is of the feed
pbo Posted February 11, 2006 Author Report Posted February 11, 2006 is this a problem of trackers or µTorrent?
Ultima Posted February 11, 2006 Report Posted February 11, 2006 It's a problem with the feed, not the tracker or µTorrent. The feed isn't encoded in UTF-8 -- it's encoded in Windows-1251 (or at least the one that doesn't require registration).
pbo Posted February 11, 2006 Author Report Posted February 11, 2006 The tracker generates the feed. Should the tracker generate the feed in UTF-8 or should µTorrent read the feed in Windows-1251?
Firon Posted February 11, 2006 Report Posted February 11, 2006 tracker should generate the feed with UTF-8, and specify it in the XML properly
pbo Posted February 11, 2006 Author Report Posted February 11, 2006 i cannot say to a tracker: you should generate the feed with UTF-8... I think, the µT should read it in Win-1251. µT can read und write filenames and directory names in Win-1251...
Ultima Posted February 11, 2006 Report Posted February 11, 2006 Nevertheless, they should still specify their encoding in the RSS file...Scratch that, windows-1251 is specified correctly in that feed...
pbo Posted February 11, 2006 Author Report Posted February 11, 2006 FironUltimawhat do you mean with "specify"? This meta-tag:<META http-equiv="content-type" CONTENT="text/html; charset=Windows-1251"> ?
Ultima Posted February 11, 2006 Report Posted February 11, 2006 We mean this:<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
ux Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 Can you implement support of Windows-1251 in µTorrent? In the source of both http://www.bt-club.org/rss.php and http://www.kinozal.ws/TK/rssdd.xml is string<?xml version="1.0" encoding="windows-1251" ?>. Or should russian peoples use an another bt-client?Thanks!
chupakabra Posted February 19, 2006 Report Posted February 19, 2006 Can you implement support of Windows-1251 in µTorrent? In the source of both http://www.bt-club.org/rss.php and http://www.kinozal.ws/TK/rssdd.xml is string<?xml version="1.0" encoding="windows-1251" ?>. Or should russian peoples use an another bt-client?I tested http://www.kinozal.ws/TK/rssdd.xml and it is displayed correctly. I think you need to set Russian as language for non-Unicode programs in the Windows Regional Settings.
