xtertristl Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 HelloI'm running into some problems with getting the port to forward properly thought the windows firewall. While doing some research on the problem I noticed something strange with the active connections between utorrent and my peers.I'm running a basic system using the on-board ethernet to connect to a router and then out to the web.MB: Asus PQ5 SE2router: Zio X11Internet provider: KT TelecomOperating system: Win7 Build 7100Firewall: Windows Firewall and Comodo Firewall (freeware)I've also tested this without the router and having a direct connection to the web.So the problem I'm having is that even when I've told the windows firewall to allow traffic for the 6 options in the advanced firewall setting It's still giving me the red warning circle. I've tried turning off the firewall all together and I still get the red circle.Because I can't get enough information from the WF (Windows firewall) I downloaded and installed the comodo firewall. when I looked at the Active connections I saw on the TCPout connections my local IP address with a port on the end but the strange thing was it wasn't the port I setup for utorrent to use and it kept incrementing. ie: 192.168.10.100:42236 the port not the ip address was incrementing. The UDP port was staying the same but it wasn't the one I set either.I was a little confused and hadn't checked this in winXP yet but I wanted to verify that it was windows 7 or utorrent in w7 that was causing the problem. when I check my computer with winXP (that has no problems getting a green connection) I was reassured that the correct port was being used and it didn't increment.Anyone understand why this is happening? Help would be greatly appreciated because I've taken this as far as my computer skills extend to.Update: This is still happening doesn't anyone have any Ideas on why or what I can do to fix this?
