garratt1963 Posted October 22, 2009 Report Posted October 22, 2009 Hello, I am using utorrent 1.8.4. under XP and had opened a specific port for utorrent. It worked fine for some days. Today I received an error-message (red ! at the bottom of the window) telling me that my network connections were faulty. I checked it with the Speed-Guide and the tool found nothing wrong with my port forwarding. The result was: port was opened and working correctly. Even a restart of utorrent didn´t improve my red ! ...What can I do to get it working? Thanks, Pete.
Switeck Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 Does your internet ip change sometimes? Are you on wireless?Have you set up your computer to use a static LAN ip address?
garratt1963 Posted October 23, 2009 Author Report Posted October 23, 2009 Hello,Does your internet ip change sometimes? ---- No.Are you on wireless? ---- Yes.Have you set up your computer to use a static LAN ip address? ---- No, I take whatever comes, but the IP never changes.Thanks.
Switeck Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 If your computer's LAN ip address changes, are you using UPnP on the wireless router to keep uTorrent forwarded?
garratt1963 Posted October 24, 2009 Author Report Posted October 24, 2009 Dear Switeck,in the uTorrent options I see that Unp port mapping is activated. Does this fit to your question? But there is another strange thing and it might be the problem: my port forwarding is automatically set to the IP adress "192.168.178.31" but when I run the port-checker of uTorrent, it checks it on "77.186.11.246" !Could this be the reason for my problem - and if yes, how can I solve it?Thanks!
Switeck Posted October 24, 2009 Report Posted October 24, 2009 The port checker checks your internet (WAN) ip. If you're forwarded correctly and have no blocking software firewalls, this should work.
