3fingeredwilly Posted May 16, 2007 Report Posted May 16, 2007 hello, all this is my first post,im having the same kind of problem with my belkin wireless router, after LOTS of digging and very little help from belkin i found something that might help some of you. if you use DSL or high speed cable, your probably having trouble with setting up a static IP like i am, thats because cable uses dynamic IP, not static or fixed IP addresses. also belkin has a recall on the F5D7230-4 and many MANY OTHER routers they have made for not delivering "high speed" connections like advertised!! go to there web site and at the bottom of the page you will see the word "claims". click on it and read it.as for the other problems with the IP addresses, ive talked to the cable company and there is NO solution for it!!!!! so either live with the slow speed or buy another router, myself i happen to fall into the time frame of the class action law suite so i might get a discount on a new setup!!!Im no expert believe me but this might make some sense to you all!! good luck!!!!
stevejones974 Posted June 8, 2007 Report Posted June 8, 2007 I'm going to sound like an idiot but... I have the Belkin router in question and am comepletely lost. I know nothing about networking so I'm hoping to just get a some help from you guys. My router does seem to be running slow and utorrent isn't downloading at all. Can someone walk me through and tell me what settings I need to change/where I need to go to get it all running? I set utorrent to 200 max connections, what do i do now? Thanks, sorry for my incometence.Edit: ok, I'm setting up a static IP address but I'm confused. When I run ipconfig/all in "run" my default gateway, DHCP Server, and DNS Server are all the same address. I guess I don't know what to enter for preferred DNS Server and alternate DNS Server in my properties page for making a static IP (basically I get lost at the last step; I think). Wow, I seem awefully confused. please help.

Wobwill Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 Hi,I have a Belkin F5D7632-4 (UK user) I have my settings set at the standard upload speed xx/96k giving me 75 max global connections and 1 active torrent (I share my internet connection). I was seeding for 8 hours yesterday and when I got home I found that I could not load any webpages using firefox or IE. I could download emails using outlook though. Having read through the thread, is there anything else I can do apart from buy another router (especially as this one cost me £60 last year). I have set up uTorret correctly and don't suffer from yellow / red lights etc (had to reinstall my firewall though!)Will
