Connected to seeds, but not downloading from them

Maybe it's something basic, but throughout all my reading i haven't found an answer to this yet.

I'm connected to 8(558) seeds and 24(1851) peers. From what I understand this is decent number of connection and a relatively healthy torrent.

But what I don't understand is when i check the peers, from all the seeds, i'm not downloading from any of them and i'm only downloading from 8-10 of the 32 connections. Most of them are 0.1 to 0.9 kB/s while usually 1 or 2 are between 1 and 10 kB/s.... once in a while i'm lucky and get one that goes fast.

In my example I was downloading at 250-350 kB/s during most of the day then at 5ish pm bang, it went dead at around 7-12 kB/s and now stuck there

That being said, his there anything I can do to speed things up?

With more conservative uTorrent settings, you might get just over 20 KB/sec download after 5 PM.

Encryption-wise, you might get better results doing this:

(NOTE: Those settings were a special case for a wireless ISP, so understand them before you try them!)
