lostthoughts54
I am trying to setup my utorrent with a new router. it is a netgear wgt624v3. I followed the instructions at portforward.com. Running the utorrent scanner shows that the port still is closed. i used grc shield to run a scan on my ports and they all come up stealth unless i have them listed in the portforwarding of my router. They then come up closed. I know its not a software firewall issue because it is persistant between my two operating systems(xp and 7. i run a software firewall on xp and 7 has not had a firewall setup on it yet. both have windows firewall disabled.) I have a static IP setup in both OSes.router: netgearwgt624v3modem: RCAdcm425cinternet:comcast
Switeck
Did you port forward both UDP and TCP to your computer's fixed LAN ip address?Your computer's fixed LAN ip address should be outside the router's DHCP dynamic LAN ip range. Is SPI disabled on the router? (Many routers work better with BitTorrent with that disabled.)
