gnf.pt
Hi, I think that uPnP implementation is broken. I have a Asus WL-500g with uPnP active. BitComet is able to open it's defined port but utorrent isn't, I have to set it manually. Thanks, ~/gnf.pt
Ultima
Yeah happens sometimes... you just have to manually forward the port if you can (and you obviously were able to).
gnf.pt
Hi, that wasn't a big problem. I've read a thread regarding this and regardless of one can bypass the problem (one way or the other) the point is that the uPnP is not well implemented, or at least not as functional (it at all) as bitcomet's implementation.Under the same environment, I would expect to see similar results - that is utorrent creating ports the way bitcomet does with uPnP - but unfortunately this is not the case. This isn't a big a problem but it should be addressed. Thanks, ~/gnf.pt
Ultima
UPnP isn't well implemented in many routers anyhow. Some people have reported UPnP working on µTorrent but not BitComet. How about that then?
gnf.pt
You're right but that doesn't seem to be the problem with the ASUS WL500g.
Firon
There's various UPnP standards, and methinks that the UPnP service in Windows XP is rather incomplete to boot, so that doesn't help. And implementing it yourself is apparently a PITA.
