startrok
Hello,Let's say John has a Utorrent ratio of 5 and Mary's ratio is only 0.5. Will John get a much better average download speed than Mary because his ratio is 10 times higher? In other words, is there any real benefit to be gained from keeping our ratio high, speedwise? Thanks in advance.
Ultima
There isn't a strict correlation between ratios and rewards in BitTorrent. Global ratios don't improve speeds on an individual swarm basis. The only thing that matters is that the more you upload, the more likely it will be that other peers will reward your behavior in that same swarm by preferring to upload to you instead of other peers. Switeck
uTorrent cares more about what you're doing right now (and in the last 5-20 minutes) than 1+ hours ago.
