kronbons2010 Posted December 6, 2009 Report Posted December 6, 2009 Hey all, thanks for all the good help on this forum, I have fixed a lot in the past using this place. One things that is stumping me, and which I can't seem to find an answer for anywhere though... Basically utorrent doesn't seem to be writing all of the cache to disk. I see under the 'files' tab that much of my files are showing as green, which if I'm correct, means they haven't been written to the disk. Looks like this: http://bayimg.com/HAGpOaACaThis only happens periodically, and I'm not sure under what conditions. I have tried playing with all the cache settings I can find, and yet I can't seem to get those green pieces to turn blue. Doing a force recheck gets rid of them, but doesn't write them to disk, I just lose the downloaded data it would seem. It seems like some data is being written to the disk, but not all of it, and not all of the time, resulting in the build up of green pieces. Any help is much appreciated, as I'm not on the fastest connection so it sucks to have to go back and redownload parts I have already waited for. Thanks very much in advance!***Edit, solved***Well not really solved, but figured out. Basically if there are a lot of pieces still incomplete under the pieces tab, then under the file tab much of the file will appear green. Just give it time, and green turns to blue.
DreadWingKnight Posted December 6, 2009 Report Posted December 6, 2009 And what about on the pieces tab?
kronbons2010 Posted December 6, 2009 Author Report Posted December 6, 2009 Pieces tab seems to be acting normal, just two shades of blue... Some pieces not really moving, but I'm guessing that is to be expected.
DreadWingKnight Posted December 6, 2009 Report Posted December 6, 2009 And the pieces that aren't moving are the ones that are in green on the files tab.
kronbons2010 Posted December 6, 2009 Author Report Posted December 6, 2009 There doesn't seem to be any connection between the two. And, I'm pretty sure there is activity on all pieces under the pieces tab. As we speak there are writes being done to the hd, but still some green is building up under the files tab. I'm at a loss...
DreadWingKnight Posted December 6, 2009 Report Posted December 6, 2009 The manual says that green on the files tab means partially complete.
kronbons2010 Posted December 6, 2009 Author Report Posted December 6, 2009 You mean "Green means the data is still unwritten to disk."? And if so, why is so much green, and is there anyway to get it written to the disk if it is in memory?
