After installing utorrent, I went into utorrent and generated a random port number (12781) saved it.

noticed that the symbol at the bottom of the window was yellow/orange triangle when I selected a torrent to download. Telling me

No incoming connections

Unless the icon turns green,

it could indicate a problem

with your network configuration

I am using a WRT54G Router.I went to Applications and Gaming/ Port Range Forwarding and entered the port number selected into start/end and entered my IP Address, clicked save and exited IExplorer,

I still have the yellow/orange triangle.

At one point I changed the port so they wouldn't match and the yellow/orange triangle changed to a red circle. I changed back to matching ports. So I know I am communicating with the router via IExplorer.

Let me make a couple observations at this point.

1. I am obviously getting incoming connections since I am both

downloading and uploading data, albeit ever so slow.

2. the warning notification does say could indicate, not indicates.

Could I be chasing phantom problems ?

Whats my next step ?

Tnx, Sam

Try setting up a static IP address outside the routers DHCP range (default 192.168.1.100-150). What version hardware version WRT54G?

I am currently using a Linksys WRT54G V3, Firmware Ver V4.20.7, Aug 18, 2005.

Presently it is set up for my computers IP, 192.168.1.100, are you saying it should be set up for a seperate IP address ?

I changed the port to 192.168.1.151, saved....I still have yellow triangle at bottom of screen.

FYI

I have Zone Alarm Firewall, which I temporarily turned off to see if it was causing problem..no change.

Also Win Firewall is not on and has never been on.

I am at a loss and have exceeded what little I know. Anymore ideas ? Tnx, Sam

after turning ZA off a couple of times, with no apparent effect, I went to msconfig and unchecked it, so it wouldn't boot at start in the event that I wasn't turning it off totally after having started it at boot. That didn't help. I suppose an uninstall can be an option to consider as a last resort........Anyone got any other ideas ?
