hollywoodstylin
I am using XP Pro SP2 and Kerio Personal Firewall.I have Network OK on my interface. However, when I go to Options > Speed Guide and test my port, I get the error port message. I noticed that when I DISABLE the Kerio Firewall and ENABLE the Windows Firewall, I still get the port error. Now, when I disable BOTH Kerio and Windows firewalls, I get the OK! I have already unchecked the "Resolve Address" option from Kerio. Does this mean that I should disable both the Kerio and Windows firewalls? I already have a Linksys WRT54G router that has firewall protection. I'm just wondering why I get 2 conflicting answers here (Network OK and Error Port). Ultima
Uh... did you set up port-forwarding? And when you use the Windows Firewall, is µTorrent in the exceptions list? By the way, that router has problems with P2P unless you upgrade the firmware.
hollywoodstylin
Yes, I set up port forwarding. Yes, uTorrent is in the exceptions list in both Kerio and Windows firewall. Yes, I upgrading the firmware to Hyper-WRT. Yes, I did everything in the mini-guide that it said to do. Like I said, I get the OK whenever I disable both firewalls. If either one of them is enabled (Kerio or Windows), then this is when I get the Error Port message.
Ultima
Very odd... Maybe you have to allow connection to the router IP address? For me, I don't show up on my router's list of computer connected unless I allow connection to it through ZoneAlarm.
hollywoodstylin
I forgot to mention that I am also using Peer Guardian 2. I don't know if that has anything to do with it. I don't think so because its OK when I disable both firewalls and not even touch Peer Guardian.

hollywoodstylin
I had the same problem when I was using BitComet also.
Ultima
Hm... I'm not sure what's going on, to be honest... Back to testing the Windows Firewall... did you move the executable after adding it to the exceptions? Check if the exception is still pointing to the correct utorrent.exe.Edit: Er... that BitComet thing throws this idea out...
1c3d0g
I heard some people say here that their ISP's put their users behind transparent proxies...I'm not even sure what that is, but it seems to give people quite a headache. Maybe your ISP also likes to play these silly games with its customers... :|
hollywoodstylin
I figured out part of it. Under Windows firewall, I had the box "Don't allow exceptions" checked (I'm such an idiot). Now, however, I can get the OK! sign when I have the Windows firewall on and the Kerio firewall disabled. So, it has to do something with Kerio firewall.
hollywoodstylin
Does anyone know of a good free firewall besides Kerio? The reason I like Kerio is because it doesn't have those annoying pop-ups everytime like Zone Alarm. Sometimes I can't even make out what they mean so I always just hit Allow. Ultima
ZoneAlarm doesn't pop stuff up all the time for me, only on new programs =o
