Torrent Error: The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process

Sometimes I can download whole torrent without an error, and sometimes it requires me couple of times to restart download, to finish it successfully...

I'm running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit, with ESET NOD32 Antivirus (Ver. 4.0.467.0)

winamp.exe - that's surely its media library the culprit because it's indexing media files.

Set Winamp to disable the indexiong of your torrent download folder.

And enable option "append .!ut to incomplete files" in µT. (for ESET).

I had uninstalled winamp and reinstalled utorrent with enabled "append .!ut to incomplete files" option, and after ~20min running utorrent same error occurred.

I'll try to disable windows search service, maybe that's causing problems...

Reinstalling µT again and again will not fix the problem.

Try with Windows file indexer disabled for the torrent folder.

I wanted to add that I had been experiencing the same problem a couple of days ago, and when I googled the problem I came across a thread from 2005 in the uTorrent Forum.

The solution was as follows:

set diskio.flush_files to *false

I did this and my problem disappeared.
